Trafford Palazzo is an exciting retail and leisure destination, part of iconic Trafford City in Manchester. When other suppliers failed to deliver, landlords Peel L&P turned to Telcom to install our Preconnect® solution across the whole site.

The backbone of the network was already installed around the centre, with cabinets in service corridors. So we only had to deliver a single cable over the final metres to make the connections.
Now if tenants require diversity or extra internet bandwidth, they can access it almost instantly. Plus when new tenants move in, there is an on-site solution that’s ready to go from day one. No more 90 day lead times holding up the process, often taking longer than the fit out of the entire store.

Extra bandwidth on tap
While we were looking at a Preconnect® solution with Peel, we discovered there was also a requirement for some extra bandwidth for an event that was coming up in the new venue space for fashion and beauty brands. So we installed three wifi access points to cover the entire unit.
Since it’s been installed, it’s been plug and leave. With people only coming for a week or a weekend for each event, the landlord can provide wifi as part of the package. Telcom’s Flex products can be upgraded almost on a day-by-day basis. They can be used for days or weeks at a time, over the course of an event, and the landlord isn’t committed to a long-term contract.

Trafford Palazzo is an exciting retail and leisure destination. The flagship Primark store showcases two floors of the latest trends women’s, men’s and children’s fashion. Other major retailers include homeware favourites such as Next Home, Homesense Natuzzi and Silent Night.
It’s also home the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre, SEA LIFE Manchester’s only aquarium and King Pins, the flagship state-of-the-art bowling and gaming experience.
